After All This Nothing happened. Nothing changed. Nothing caused it. Not that we know of anyway. People started dying off. Quite deaths. Sudden deaths. Many deaths. They called it dying, but it was more like they just up and left. After 5 years of this, their were only 800 humans left.
And Now? Possibly none. No one knows if they are extinct. No one cares.
But perhaps you do.

AELLA Aella grunt, frustrated, as she tried to pinpoint the sun through the thick haze surrounding her. Getting desperate, she began to climb a fallen pillar. From there she continued to climb up, across broken pillar, crumbled roof, huge wooden splinters that used to be doors. Now she looked again, perched atop the last standing remains of the old Icelandic village. Here, her view was much improved, but she still struggled to see more than 10 feet in front of her. Looking up again, she was greeted with more haze, although slightly darker her. She stood for a moment, confused, until it hit her. A crystal clear drop of icy rainwater. She groaned, as the sound of raindrops began to surround her. She was finally forced to confront the facts. She was lost, and an awful storm had just arrived.

SHAX Shax pushed herself off the ground. She stood shakily and tried to sniff around for a few scraps. She heard a few pieces of debris fall from the pile of columns to her left. Through the haze, her golden eyes could barely pick out any movement. She stalked cautiously towards the columns and gingerly jumped on one. Her tongue circled her jaws at the thought of food.

AELLA Aella quickly began to work her way back down to the ground. The droplets of rain had already turned into a heavy pour, leaving the smooth stone pillar slick as ice. Aella put all of her concentration into not falling off the dangerously high pillar. As she reached the end of the pillar, she stopped. She looked out to realize how difficult this would be; she would have to jump through a window, into the remains of a larger building. Which wouldn't have been to tricky, except that on the other side of the window, there was only 6 feet of flooring before it turned into what was once spiraling staircase, and now was a 10 foot drop. 10 feet also wouldn't be all to bad, but the old stairs lay in defeat at the bottom of the stairway. Realizing what she was about to face, Aella wasted no time. She took a deep breath, and jumped.
She cleared the window; along with the stairs. She plummeted down the shaft, as her world was engulfed first with pain, and then with black.
SHAX Shax crouched low to the pillar as she heard something crunch in the building next to her. She sniffed the air. The faint scent of dog on the pillar she stood on excited her. Her tail wagged slightly. Shax was disappointed that the dog probably didn't have food, but the realization that she might not be alone anymore gave her hope of survival. She climbed slowly down the column backwards and sniffed at the lower window of the building.

AELLA Light rushed in, light rushed out. The battle between the light and dark was all to real. It took every ounce of willpower Aella had left to not let herself...slip away. Slip away from the bitter pain. Slip away from her wretched past. Slip away, like all the humans did. Oh, sweet release was so close.
SHAX Hearing fading breathing, Shax went into investigate. She crept low to the floor. Laying in the middle of the debris was a cream colored sheperd. The poor thing was barely breathing. Shax nuzzle it's ear then listened to her fading heart. She curled around the younger dog determined to keep her alive.

AELLA Light poured in, the darkness pushed far away. A warm sensation filled Aella. It was comforting and gentle, and smelled of sweet oranges. Stirred by these nostalgic comforts, she attempted to open her eyes.
SHAX The black sheperd stood up anxiously, feeling the younger female stir slightly. She smiled as she opened her eyes. "Hi..." She greeted the weak sheperd quietly, not wanting her to panic in a strange situation.

AELLA She looked around weakly, not yet strong enough to lift her head. She heard a calm voice behind her. Realising that the earth was from this dog's close proximity, she frowned in confusion. "Who are-" she started, puzzled by WHY this stranger offered her any form of help.
SHAX "I'm Shax. What's your name?" She asked cautiously. She tried to keep her aggression under control as it wasn't her fault the dog had trespassed on Shax's territory. Shax cocked her head as the dog looked puzzled as to why she was there.

AELLA "A lie" Aella responded curtly. Her pain had returned in full, taking the place of any patience she had had. Despite the screams of protest near her ribcage, Aella attempted to stand.
SHAX "Slow down there partner," Shax said worriedly as the wounded dog tried to get up. She frowned at the dogs labored breathing. "How'd you get in here?" Shax asked curiously. She had been right next to the entrance the whole time.

AELLA "Though the window" Aella replied, making a pained gesture upwards. She collapsed, and struggled to lift herself again. Her breathing was heavy and painful, but she was going to live. For now.
Shax "Ow..." Shax replied looking up at the window to which she had indicated. "How are you still alive?" She asked in disbelief, an ordinary dog would be extremely lucky to have survived that. It was about 50 maybe 60 feet. She had to have broken something.

AELLA Aella didn't bother to look at the strange dog. "You could call me lucky." she replied, wincing. She attempted to walk again, her steps becomeing healthier and stronger. Her fur had also deruffled itself, and her few cuts already began forming scars.
Shax "More like a miracle!" She exclaimed. Never in her five years had she seen a dog survive such a jump. There's been bombs, guns, knives, and such in the police academy but none of the dogs had to do the high jumps. Sure Shax could jump on a moving train and into the back of a jacked up four by four but most likely not from the window. "Whew. Anyways, how'd you get into MY part of the city without me noticing?" She asked suppressing a low growl when she said MY.

AELLA "It's only yours as long as you live" she Aella in a low growl. "Don't be a fool. I want nothing of this putrid wasteland that could even survive before, much less now. You call it a city, but it's only ruins from a time past." She snapped.
Shax Shax frowned, "it may be ruins to you, but it has held a lifetime for me," memories flashed by as she spoke. The academy, her partner, the house, the man, the knife all were swept by her mind. Focus! She told herself. She widened her stance and lowered her head a bit to protect her throat. "And I'm not the one who should be worried about surviving." She snarled menacingly.

AELLA Aella chuckled slightly at the older dogs senimenaltality and foolishness."What do you think I would do to your precious rocks? There isn't anything here worth taking. Trust me, if there was, It would already be mine. Now if you'll excuse me, I have more important things to do." She snarled, before turning around and briskly trotting off into the haze.
SHAX"You won't get very far. I know every nook and cranny in this city. There's nowhere to go except out." She snarled. Her chest thrummed in anger. She had helped this dog and it had repaid her by insulting her home. She had chosen to waste her time on this dog and it hadn't even thanked her. This dog would pay.

AELLA "Where do you think I'm going you moron? This trash heap is nothing, and if you had half a brain, you would leave too!" Aella called over her shoulder.

AELLA Aella felt the weight first. Then the pain. The dog had tried to bite her, but Aella had lunged forward in an attempt to throw her off. The dog's bite missed her neck, and dug down into her shoulder blade. The bite was that of a trained dog, and would have been lethal most anywhere else on the body. But Aella had luck on her side. The dog's teeth hit her shoulder bone with a metallic clank.

STERLING The energetic german shepherd had been, quite honestly, enjoying himself as he wandered aimlessly through who-knows-what. He yawned, stretched a couple times. This and that, here and there, sometimes hunting. At the sound of.. fighting and what seemed like the hitting of metal, he perked his large, fluffy ears. Picking up a trot, Sterling decided to make his way toward the sound. With a quick wag of his tail, the dog headed that direction and stopped when he saw.. two (quite lovely) canines, fighting each other for what seemed like no reason at all. Though, he felt in his gut that he should probably be worrying about his next meal, but this was way more interesting. One of the females, the one who.. who'd been pounced on, well, she was kinda clanging. "The heck?" he snorted, watching them fight with increasing interest. "Yo, why're you two fighting? I thought we were supposed to, like, support each other? Or are you guys totally just showin' off. Dang, I didn't know I was that handsome," the dog barked, followed by a very sincere grin.

Shax "What the heck?" She growled in pain as her teeth hit metal. They vibrated from the impact. A male had appeared. She answered his question, "We're fighting for... Why are we fighting again?" She looked confusedly at the other female. "Aella," she snarled, "And don't ask me why were fighting, I was on my way out, thank you very much." She then glanced back at the male, "State your business, charming."

AELLA Aella had sat down, letting herself heal. The bite was deep and would take several hours for the tissues to fully reconnect, possibly longer if the clanging to her system had disturbed any of her systems. But of the time being, scar tissue was forming as it should, if a little slow. "The delay must be my other programs automatically starting" She thought, a feeling of dread over coming her as her jaw locked itself in place- shut.
((Jesse I tweaked what you said for me so that it fit my character, ))
Shax (( Okay mocha I can't respond that well until sterling does)) she glanced at Aella, she seemed to be okay. Shax had done a number on her skin and tissue but it seemed to be healing.

STERLING The shepherd snickered at the seemingly flustered females. Oh, so the metal one was named Aella. And the other one? He tilted his head in subconscious thought, then shook himself out of it and sat down (taking care to show his gorgeous and rippling muscles). "I'unno," Sterling replied, comical grin staying on his face, tongue lolling. "Soo, is that chick like, some sort'a android? Are you an android?" He looked to the (as of now) unnamed canine with one brow raised. "Jeez, I was just walking 'round. That's really all I do besides hunting every once in a while, ha." He gestured to his somewhat thin stomach, but puffed out his chest to display his ever increasing strength. "What're you doing here? And how come you don't even know what'cher fighting about? Makes no sense. Do you guys know of any other canines 'round? I haven't found none." He plopped down on the ground casually with a soft thump, tail wagging lazily behind him. Sterling yawned. "And do any of you have a nice place t'stay? God, I can't just sit here freezin' my tail off all night. It sucks, man." The tannish and black dog snorted to himself. Why would the humans die off and not leave anything for man's best friend? Sure, he was never one of those wimpy little pets, yet he was a dog, and he was quite the energetic one, too. When the guy from the meat store disappeared, Sterling was outta luck and outta time. He sniffed both of the other dogs from afar. Only one smelled of metal, but he decided to let them do the talking before he said anything else.

Shax She responded to the question about Aella, "I don't know about her-" annd then to the last one, "I know a place or two to stay. It /is/ getting late." She glanced at the sky. Shax then asked, "what's your name?" The Black and Tan male seemed nice enough. He also seemed to be around her age (a bit older than Aella).
